CM – Jesse Lingard on West Ham’s January transfer wish list

0

Jesse Lingard could find an escape route from Manchester United to find regular time with West Ham still keen to sign him on a permanent deal.

The English have only played seven Premier League games this season. That’s nowhere near enough to have him on Gareth Southgate’s roster for the World Cup, and unless something drastic changes under the new manager, we won’t be able to see the former academy graduate.

The Mirror says West Ham want Lingard in January, just like they did in the summer when they failed to match United’s price.

Everyone knows the situation is different now – with United in a weaker position than before as Lingard can leave on a Bosman at the end of the season.
Regarding the January midweek transfer window, Hammers boss David Moyes admitted he would be looking for more offensive options in the market – as they missed out on Lingard’s presence in the final third after he closed in the summer his short loan had gone to stay.

Moyes said, as quoted by The Sun, « Maybe we can add to the front in some way, which could give us other alternatives. »

West Ham needed a little more in the 1-1 draw against Brighton last night but are still ahead of Manchester United in the Premier League table.

Although the Hammers were popular not long ago, they suffered two defeats at Wolves and Man City before the draw last night. Surely it is time you slide off the table?
