President Biden and First Lady Jill shocked other guests at their castle hotel in England when they showed up on the hotel terrace in sneakers and jeans for a drink after meeting British Prime Minister Boris Johnson The first couple stepped into the courtyard of Treganna Castle, built on the Cornish coast in 1774, and jostled wooden furniture before taking a seat.
BBC reporter Jon Sopel tweeted a video of a brief exchange he had with Biden when the president showed up unexpectedly.

When Sopel suggested to Biden that the cloudy day could use some sun, Biden replied, “Well, I’m telling you this is so beautiful it takes not even sun. ”
The BBC reporter wrote that Biden ordered a Coke and his wife enjoyed a glass of red wine. In a rare commonality with his predecessor Donald Trump, Biden doesn’t drink alcohol.
Biden didn’t take questions from American reporters earlier in the day after meeting British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, where the two put a dispute over Brexit aside and focused on flattery and the deployment of a revised Atlantic Charter that pledged nations to fight global warming, cyber criminals and the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the meeting, Biden presented Johnson with a bicycle. And Johnson gave him a framed photo of a British mural depicting the abolitionist Frederick Douglass.
Biden repeatedly congratulated Johnson on his recent marriage to his third wife, 33-year-old Carrie Johnson, who he bumped on the wrist after passing the Prime Minister for an initial handshake. The bride and Jill Biden dipped their feet in the Atlantic, along with the Prime Minister’s son, who was less than two months old.
