CM – Kendrick Perkins confronts Quavo on « First Take » about lyrics

Kendrick Perkins and Quavo have crushed their persistent « non-beef » on national television – with comedic results.

The NBA champion and Migos member tried it on Thursday at ESPN’s « First Take », where the rapper was there to promote the group’s new album « Culture III ».

« First Take « presenters Molly Qerim Rose and Max Kellerman asked Quavo what his » beef « was with Perkins on the show.

« I don’t have a cow man. He must have been feeling kind of since I dropped the bars, and since then he’s been saying my bars are weak and I’m just telling facts, « Quavo said, referring to the time he was rapping about Perkins in the song, » F – k 12 ”, from his 2018 debut solo album“ Quavo Honcho ”.

The text contained: » Every time your bh phone when she workingin ‘/ Get no playin’ time, Kendrick Perkins. «

Quavo stated on « First Take » that he recorded the album during the Cleveland series with the Raptors during the 2018 Eastern Conference playoffs, where Perkins – as a spectator on the sidelines – got into a verbal argument with Drake.

Thank goodness you’re back with the Migos, because this Photoshop uppercut is closer than ever to a hit as a solo artist! Keep it up …

Quavo and Drake are frequent collaborators and close friends, and Quavo was also referring to the moment in “F – k 12”.

“You wanted to argue and you wanted to fight. / W Why do you want to wreak so much havoc when you’re not playing? / If you’re not playing, you shouldn’t try to fight, « Quavo raps in the song.

Perkins reminded Quavo on Thursday that although he wasn’t playing at the time, he was an important player for early in his career was the Celtics, including their 2007-08 championship team.

« When I was working, you probably still had Similac on your breath when I helped the Celtics get into the finals, » said Perkins.

Quavo and Perkins have been on the line for years, and their back and forth saw a resurgence this week when Quavo used a photo of Perkins with a fist emoji under his chin to promote Migos’ new album.

Perkins hit back with: « Thank god you’re back with the Migos, because this Photoshop uppercut is closer than ever to a hit as a solo artist! Continue … «

In a 2019 interview on » Fair Game with Kristine Leahy « Perkins referred to the text and said he almost » got in « with Quavo.

» He tried to get me diss … so I thought, ‘Uh, no, and you have to stay with the Migos and not go alone. I wanted to kind of shoot back because his album flopped anyway, « he said, adding, » It was rubbish.  » Perkins went on to say that at the end of his career his role was to be a « locker room » guy instead of playing more minutes. He retired in April 2019.

At the end of his « first take. » « On the show, Quavo realized that there was never any bad blood at Perkins.

» All jokes aside, it’s never beef with Big Perk and it’s all love … it’s all respect, « he said.

« If we had beef, we would have made hamburgers, » Perkins replied. « It’s not beef, it’s just a little boxing and I’m really cool with it. »
