After the Knicks closed a pair of trades Thursday night at the Barclays Center and picked Quentin Grimes at number 25, the Knicks sent the number 32 to Oklahoma City and added numbers 34 and 36 instead.
In place In 34, they grabbed Rokas Jokubaitis, a 6-foot-5 left guard from Lithuania who currently plays for FC Barcelona in Spain. The 20-year-old is a ball handler and is considered a reliable, solid player.
Two picks later, the Knicks made Tom Thibodeau happy and brought in West Virginia point guard Miles McBride, who impressed the coach during his training with the team. The former high school quarterback might be a bargain on draft day. « I see people before him who I know are better than, » West Virginia assistant coach Erik Martin told The Post. “He surpassed some of these guys when we played them. He is 6-2, a retired soccer player and a winner. He has toughness. With that he came in the door. Hopefully he will be drawn where he would play. ”
The Knicks also designed Texas 6-10 striker Jericho Sims with the number 58 in the second round.
