The Ministry of Health (DOH) reported fewer than 15,000 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) for the third time in a row on Thursday, September 30, 2021. The DOH case bulletin also listed 130 additional deaths and 8,268 new recoveries.

The new cases brought the cumulative number of cases to 2,549,966. There were 52 duplicates, including 38 restores that were removed from the count. The daily number remained relatively low as diagnostic tests this week were down 10 percent across the country compared to the previous week. In the National Capital Region, tests were down 14 percent. Only 62,369 tests were performed on September 28, less than the daily test average of 70,134 for the past seven days. The daily positivity rate was relatively lower at 22 percent. The additional deaths, which included 120 cases previously marked as recoveries, brought the death toll to 38,294. The death rate remained at 1.5 percent. The total number of recoveries was 2,373,378, including new recoveries. There remained 138,294 active Covid-19 cases, of which 0.9 percent were critical, 2.0 percent were severe, 3.72 percent were moderate, 77.7 percent were mild, and 15.8 percent were asymptomatic.
