After eight months of mourning, three-time Olympian Lisa Curry opened up for the first time in public about losing her daughter Jaimi. The pain of her death has left her so broken and exhausted – some days it’s just so hard to get out of bed ????.
Curry reveals the grief over Jaimi’s death in September at the age of only 33 . « It’s been a long, hard road for our family ».
In her fortnightly debut column for Body Soul magazine â ???? Relaunch today in The Sunday Telegraph in a new independent format â ???? Curry also reveals that after her daughter’s death she cannot sleep and « has lost all motivation to move ».

It’s overwhelming. It’s endless. I’m tired of being tired. I’m tired of being sad and exhausted. I am sad that the fun in my soul has disappeared. But I’m sure our loved ones who have died don’t want us to feel.
Curry, the co-founder of Happy Healthy You, an Australia-based women’s health and lifestyle company, is now on a journey to meet others to inspire.
After one of the toughest years of her life, Curry, who recently turned 59, encourages others to live their happiest, healthiest lives – including herself.
« My muscles ache so much and the pain feels like I’ve been hit by a truck. » Curry writes.
In September of last year, Jaimi lost her battle with a long-term illness and passed away peacefully with a family at Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Curry, known as the fiercest competitor in a sport, continues to process the battle and the enormity of losing their beloved eldest child, who also left sister Morgan and brother Jett.
Neither parent is ever prepared for the death of a child and the family has paid tribute to Jaimi since her sad death.
And as the Curry Kenny family mourned, so did a nation that celebrated Lisa and Grant’s athletic success and saw Jaimi grow up on the pool deck.
« We still owe it to the people we love to be able to live well « and not just exist. I have a lovely family, great friends, the most loving, caring, supportive husband, great ex-husband. Lisa writes.
