Curtis Jones is available for Liverpool’s meeting with Newcastle United on Saturday lunchtime.

Jones missed the Reds’ last three games due to a muscle problem, but the midfielder took part in training on Thursday and Jürgen Klopp has confirmed that he is fit with Diogo Jota.

Nathaniel Phillips remains due to the Thigh problem, which excluded him from the trip to Leeds United on Monday, paused.

At his pre-game press conference, Klopp said: « No, Nat Phillips is not back. Curtis is back, yes, that’s right. Diogo is leaving it’s fine. «

When asked if he knew more about a schedule for Jordan Henderson’s return, the boss said, » Not really, I don’t know. Nobody told me, so it sure isn’t in that next weeks. «

Darlow and Fraser are currently undergoing surgery for knee and groin problems, respectively, while Schar has returned to training but is unlikely to be ready to perform at Anfield.

» Fab Schar has the whole week worked extremely hard and t rains. Maybe the weekend is a little too early for him, « said Newcastle boss Steve Bruce at his pre-game press conference.

» But the good thing about Fab is that, as always, he really wants to play. So it’s good to see him again.

« Unfortunately, Karl Darlow had minor knee surgery so he’ll be out for a few weeks, and so is Ryan Fraser. So that’s it in terms of injuries. «

The Magpies are however bolstered by the confirmed availability of strikers Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson.

» Luckily he’s fine, « said Bruce of Saint-Maximin, who won the 3 : 2 win against West Ham United.

« He’s been training all week. It was a kick, a punch to his ankle, but he kicks and punches a few. It always will a constant fight with him but he’s fine.

« It was part of Callum’s rehab that he had an easier Thursday, but he’s perfectly fine too. »
