CM – Magic Sign Taipan’s Point Guard Scott Machado

The Mandurah Magic have signed Scott Machado of Cairns Taipans on a historic deal for the remainder of the NBL1 West season.

The talented basketball player has had opportunities at various NBA clubs, including the Toronto Raptors, LA Lakers and Utah Jazz.

However, since he could not find a safe place in these cadres, he looked elsewhere for the next step in his career Career.

Machado came to Australia in 2019, signed with the Cairns Taipans for the 2019-20 season and was called up to the All NBL First Team after a breakout season.

His current form of the 2020-21 season an average of 15 points, three rebounds and seven assists show that the 31-year-old will be a huge boost for the Magic in the back half of the regular season.

The President of Mandurah Magic, Adam Ahern, said he was thrilled that Machado chose his club to play the remainder of the NBL1 West season.
