MANCHESTER: Manchester United have provided an update on Scott McTominay’s situation after the midfielder was removed from the Scottish squad for next month’s international matches.
The midfielder showed in the weekend’s opening win against Leeds United performed superbly and was subsequently praised by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but could only make one cameo off the bench in the 1-1 draw in Southampton.
Ole admitted on Sunday that the Academy product had a groin problem has struggled and steps have now been taken to correct it.
« Scott had an operation for a persistent groin injury that caused significant pain while playing, » the club said in an official statement.
