The state government has announced that the mask requirement for residents of Perth and Peel will be lifted on Friday, January 7th, starting at 6 p.m.

The state government has announced that the mask requirement for residents of Perth and Peel will be lifted on Friday, January 7th, starting at 6 p.m.

Masks are only needed in high-risk environments such as hospitals, elderly and disabled services, on public transportation, and in taxis and ridesharing.

« Although tonight it’s fantastic to be able to meet the requirements for the Wearing masks to loosen up safely, we are not out of the woods yet, « said incumbent Prime Minister Roger Cook.

For venues and events such as nightclubs, music festivals and major events over 500 people, pubs and taverns with a capacity of more than 500 people or licensed venues open after midnight, events with an occasional liquor license, and the Crown Gaming floor.

« This requirement means that anyone present or working in these environments is safer, » said Cook.
