CM – Masks are being put on again in Queensland amid rising COVID numbers

The Queensland government will reintroduce a mask mandate in the face of rising cases as the state’s borders remain relaxed in the run-up to Christmas.

After teasing a mandate yesterday, the government has now announced that indoors, in which people cannot distance themselves socially, masks will be required.

Prime Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk said the move was a necessary measure in view of the increasing number of cases.

« We are seeing more cases and we definitely do not want massive ones See escalation over Christmas-New Years. «

The move follows the Queensland vaccine mandate, which will come into effect Friday, banning unvaccinated Queenslanders from most non-essential venues.
