CM – Mel B stars in a film about « brutal and disturbing » domestic violence to highlight issues

Mel B teamed up with Women’s Aid to create a short film about domestic violence through dance.

The video, based on the music of composer Fabio D ‘Andrea is filmed and features the composer’s music shows the Spice Girls star mimicking a woman’s escape from an abusive relationship and was inspired by the stories she heard as the charity’s patron.

Mel B described the video as « brutal and disturbing, » but said it was important to highlight the problem.

The dance was choreographed by Ashley Wallen, who starred with stars like Kylie Minogue and Mariah Carey as well as The Greatest Showman Hugh Jackman.

Mel B, best known for her Scary Spice personality, split from producer Stephen Belafonte’s ex-husband in 2018 after a decade.

She claimed Brutally H in her 2018 memoir Onest, she suffered abuse – allegations that Belafonte has repeatedly denied.

The video is part of a series by D’Andrea, in which actor Russell Tovey also highlighted topics related to fame and mental health.
