Giancarlo Stanton has now played homers in four straight games as he led New York past Toronto and increased his lead in the wildcard race to two games over the Red Sox.

Stanton went 2 for 5 with a double. He beats .304 this month with 10 homers and 25 RBI in 92 on bats.
CARDINALS 6, BREWERS 2: Dylan Carlson, Nolan Arenado and Jose Rondon homered to endorse Adam Wainwright, and St. Louis extended their winning streak on 17 games and secured a place in the NL wildcard with a win against the guest in Milwaukee.
St. Louis will play in the NL wildcard game at the Los Angeles Dodgers or San Francisco on October 6th, depending on what NL West does not win. For the Cardinals, the post-season trip is the third in a row. Milwaukee was already assured of the NL Central title.

Atlanta cut its magic number in the division race to three games and extended his lead to 3 1/2 games over the second-placed Phillies, who were eliminated from the battle for an NL wildcard with the defeat.
PIRATES 8, CUBS 6: Colin Moran hit a homer with three runs and drove in four runs as Pittsburgh tossed the Cubs their seventh straight defeat and rallied to beat the visit to Chicago.
Moran’s homer, his 10th of the season, to deep midfield in the first inning opened the scoring. The Pirates scored four runs in their sixth game to advance 7-6. Moran’s seven-year insurance run.
ANGELS: Manager Joe Maddon said Tuesday that Shohei Ohtani’s comments last weekend about his desire to win don’t mean the two-way star wants to leave the organization, if he becomes free agent after the 2023 season.

The older Jarrín began calling Dodgers games in 1959 and joined the 1998 Hall of Fame inducted.
