David Moyes made no compromises in his assessment of West Ham United’s 3-2 loss to Southampton on Boxing Day.
The Hammers suffered a fourth loss in seven Premier League games with an oddly lackluster performance on a gloomy east London afternoon, fell back and bounced twice before losing to a set goal.
The Irons were within eight minutes behind a Mohammed Elyounoussi low shot and had no reaction before half-time.
Michail Antonio was introduced at halftime and took less than four minutes to score his first goal in nine Premier League games when he nodded off from close range.
However, Southampton went through James Ward-Prowse back in the lead after Kevin Friend missed a controversial penalty kick after seeing the screen on the sidelines on the recommendation of VAR Craig Pawson and Craig Dawson for a foul to Armando Broja when the first contact appeared meters outside the penalty area.

West Ham equalized for the second time when Saïd Benrahma swept Jarrod Bowen’s right flank within three minutes.
To add to the feeling of frustration, Moyes will also be on Declan Rice for the trip on Do without a Watford Tuesday, who haven’t played since December 10th due to COVID problems.
« It was rubbish, rubbish from the start – not from start to finish, because we were better in the second half but we were flat in the first part of the game. I have no idea why, but it was us, « Moyes said.
» We didn’t really notice the amount of bad decisions and passes we made hit, we didn’t push well, so a lot of things didn’t go as well as we would have liked.
« I thought that when we were back at the same level there would really only be one winner if we keep doing the right things.
« I thought five min We thought we were doing the right things, but then we scored a terrible second goal.
« Then we got back in and I thought it was over 20 minutes and we had enough time to score one To get winners then we go and give them another free kick goal so it wasn’t good. « Good day for us. »
