The epitome of selfless love and unwavering devotion, parents always put their children before themselves. Parents help us grow and become better versions of ourselves, but how often do we recognize or appreciate their efforts? Today (July 25th) is National Parents Day, so make this special gesture.
National Parents Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday in July each year. If we look at how this day follows after Mother’s Day in May and Father’s Day in June, it’s one more reason to make this day a special occasion for our parents.
It all started in the United States in the year 1994, when former President Bill Clinton signed a Congressional resolution and made National Parents’ Day law. The first Parents Day was celebrated the next year, on July 28, 1995. According to the National Archives website, that day was also marked by the first National Parents of the Year Award presented by Mr. Clinton himself.
The reason for commemorating the day is to pay tribute to the functions and nuances of parenting to pay tribute. This day shows society’s awe for the contribution parents make to their children’s lives and recognition of the hard work that goes into raising a child.
