CM – Navy ship completes safety study near Colombo port

The Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka said the naval vessel INS Sarvekshak has surveyed 800 miles of sea near the port of Colombo and a findings report has been sent to the Sri Lankan Ministry of Fisheries to resume safe navigation and commercial fishing.

INS Sarvekshak, described as a state-of-the-art hydrographic survey vessel, was dispatched by the Navy on June 23 to a formal request from the Sri Lankan government to conduct a joint safety study with the Sri Lankan Navy and National Aquatic Agency for Resource research and development in the waters near and along important shipping routes in front of the port of Colombo.
