James Harden and Kevin Durant led a late comeback when the Brooklyn Nets picked up a 17 point deficit in the third quarter and overtook the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday.
Harden and Durant combined scored 47 points in one 102-99 road win for Brooklyn, who led the Eastern Conference with 17 wins against seven losses.
Brooklyn’s win was sealed by a devastating score in the fourth quarter when the Nets overcame Dallas 27:13.
Brooklyn took the lead for the first time in the game with a Harden free throw to make it 91-90, 6 min 41 remaining.
Dallas star Luka Doncic took the lead back twice for the Mavericks, but a 25-foot triple of Patty Mills pushed Brooklyn back into the lead in 98-97 with just under three minutes on the clock.
The win at the American Airlines Center in Dallas was a justification for Brooklyn coach Steve Nash, who Harden and Durant over 41 and 40 respectively Minutes left on the square .
