One of the most anticipated streaming events of 2021 is the new Disney documentary series « The Beatles: Get Back » directed by Peter Jackson.
Michael Lindsay-Hogg was the one who did 55 hours of unpublished Recorded material and 140 hours of audio from the recording sessions.
The scenes are strictly edited and focus on the band’s performance on the roof in 1969 for a private audience at the London headquarters of Apple Studios.
Jackson had Apparently bought too much great footage for a single film, so he and Disney decided to air the documentary in three two-hour installments.
The footage has been so well restored that it appears to have been shot yesterday rather than almost 53 years ago .
To what extent this footage captures the differences of opinion between the band members remains unclear. The « Get Back » sessions collapsed, partly because they tried to record the album using a method that was unusual for their previous achievements.
Meanwhile, the Beatles’ last live performance as a group is shown in full for the first time in the documentary and fans can see all of this talent and drama in ways they’ve never seen before.
The three-part series is slated to premiere on November 25th, 26th and 27th at Disney. In anticipation, Disney has released a wonderful new trailer that you can watch here:
