Rachael Blackmore is said to have been « in a good mood » on Saturday morning after undergoing an operation earlier that day after a serious fall in Killarney on Friday night.
The lead jump jockey suffered a broken ankle and a broken ankle in the fall Hip injury and was rushed to Tralee Hospital.
The injury will likely incapacitate Blackmore for the remainder of the summer.
In March, Blackmore became the first woman to win the Champion Hurdle in Cheltenham aboard the Brilliant Mare Honeysuckle rode, and her six winners at the festival saw her crowned leading jockey.
The following month, her profile reached stratospheric levels after becoming the first woman to land the world’s most famous obstacle race in Aintree aboard the Minella Times .
