CM – Northwest Tasmania man died in a fireworks incident


A man in his 50s died in the north of the state after a fireworks display.

Police were called to a meeting in Birralee at midnight last night after reports reported that the man at the scene stopped responding.

Preliminary investigations indicate that he tried to set off the fireworks using a metal cylinder.

Around 100 people attended the gathering on the property, luckily no one was injured in the explosion .
