The banned West Coast eagle Willie Rioli is due to appear in court tomorrow after he was allegedly caught with cannabis in his pants at Darwin Airport.
According to police, fire and rescue services of the Northern Territory, a drug detection dog was found 25 grams of cannabis in Rioli’s pants during a drug screening on April 23.
Rioli was accused of possessing a dangerous List 2 drug in a public place in an amount less than tradable – less than 50 grams.
The 2018 premier player had planned to return to the Eagles next month before his return date for training on June 20.
Rioli’s two-year statute of limitations on playing AFL football due to tampering with a urine sample , expires August 20.
