CM – NTT expands its data center space by 20% – Express Computer

The Global Data Centers division of NTT Ltd., an IDC MarketScape Worldwide Data Center Colocation and Interconnection Services 2021 Vendor Assessment company, offers a full stack of ICT services and is further expanding its global data center presence by 20 percent a connected future that will benefit businesses and hyperscale customers around the world.

NTT operates data centers in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia, including a large presence in India. It supplies and operates globally networked data centers with supra-regional data center networks in key markets such as London, Singapore, Tokyo and Virginia in North America. The expansions in data center services provide increased data center capacity and network connectivity in all regions.

In addition to expanding NTT’s global data center space, NTT is currently building a large capacity « MIST » submarine cable that will serve Singapore, Malaysia and India (Mumbai and Chennai) connects.

The infrastructure combination of such a significant increase in global data center capacity in connection with NTT’s status as a global tier 1 network service provider offers companies a secure platform for the increasing demand for full-stack ICT services.

Global Data Center Interconnect (GDCI), an integrated global network fabric service that provides a nationwide data center network and private secure connection to large cloud service providers with a single physical port that supports multiple virtual network services, enhances this capability to provide high speed networked digital backbone across its global markets. The reinforced submarine cable system will also help provide cross-regional connections from data centers.

Masaaki Moribayashi, President and Chief Executive Officer of NTT, said, “The pandemic has changed the way we live dramatically. The quality of life of people today depends fundamentally on this infrastructure. In the next 18 months, NTT plans to increase data center operations by 20 percent to a total of over 600,000 m2 (approx. 6.5 million ft2) of usable space in over 20 countries and regions. In addition, NTT will expand around 30 connection points of the GDCI service in our data centers around the world in order to optimize the company’s hybrid cloud environment via NTT’s data centers and network services. NTT has already started construction to add 300 MW of IT load to its portfolio. With the completion of new data centers, expanded campuses and high performance networks like the MIST submarine cable, we are building a connected future that will benefit NTT customers around the world. ”
