Former President Barack Obama will reportedly see nearly 700 people attending his 60th celebration.
The 44th Supreme Commander will have at least 200 staff at his Massachusetts home this weekend to accommodate the 475 invited guests including Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney and Steven Spielberg, including Axios and The Hill.
Pearl Jam will perform, with a local barber hired to style the hair of an unknown band member, reported Axios.
« It’s going to be big, » a source told The Hill at the bash for Obama, whose birthday is Wednesday.
All guests will be asked to get vaccinated and there will also be a « COVID coordinator » to ensure safety protocols are followed, said Axios.
The party comes just days after health officials on the tiny island open to vaccinated people due to rising cases of the highly contagious Delta variant public interiors issued a mask notice, The Vineyard Gazette noted.
Martha’s Vineyard is also near Provincetown, Massachusetts, where a spread among vaccinated people on July 4th led to controversial new mask guidelines from the Centers for Control and Prevention of disease.
While it doesn’t break any rules, big parties like Obama’s do not follow the general guidelines of the Biden administration.
Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health, told CNNs on Sunday » State of the Union ”that people have to use“ common sense ”before large gatherings.
“ If you are talking about a small party like the one I could have at my house for six or eight people, all of it completely are vaccinated, I don’t think we have to put on masks to be next to each other right now. « Said Collins.
» But if there were 100 people, and of course, how do you really want to be sure about people’s vaccination status? « He asked.
» Then the dynamic changes a little . It takes common sense, « he said.
The White House informed Axios that the current Commander-in-Chief will not be among the guests on his old Vice President’s big day.
» Although President Biden this weekend can’t attend, he looks forward to catching up with former President Obama soon and properly welcoming him to the club over sixty, ”said a sales outlet spokesman.
Obama has a history of big birthday blowouts. When he turned 50 in 2011, he had greats like Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Tom Hanks, and Chris Rock at a White House party.
