Pete Parada posted a statement saying his doctor advised him not to take the vaccine.

The 48-year-old drummer shared a long statement on social media claiming his doctor advised him not to get the vaccine and was told he could not tour with the band.

The stick figure “Children are not okay” began: “I have some unfortunate and difficult news to share. I know many of my close friends and family would have preferred to hear this in private first – and I apologize for the public nature of my disclosure, but I don’t know how to have this conversation multiple times.

« Given Based on my personal medical history and the side effect profile of these vaccinations, my doctor advised me not to have an injection at this time. I got the virus over a year ago and it was mild for me – so I’m confident that I would « I would do it again. » but I’m not so sure if I would survive another round of post-vaccination Guillain-Barré syndrome, which originated in my childhood and has gotten worse and worse throughout my life. Unfortunately for me (and my family – who are hoping to keep me a little longer) the risks far outweigh the benefits. «

The drummer continued, » As I am unable to do one increasingly to fulfill an industrial assignment – it was recently decided that I am unsure about being in the studio and on tour. I’m mentioning this because you won’t be seeing me at these upcoming shows. I also want to share my story so that anyone else who is experiencing the agony and isolation of being left behind knows that they are not all alone (sic). «

Parada continued to insist that he do not have harsh feelings towards the band but admitted that he was « heartbroken » in developing it.

« I have no negative feelings about my band, » he added. « They do what they do for the best hold for her while I do the same. I wish the entire Offspring family all the best for their back! It breaks my heart not to see my street community and I will miss the contact with the fans more than I can put into words.

« Although my reason for not getting this vaccination is medical in nature, I want to make sure that I don’t create a space that is just big enough for me. I must state in no uncertain terms that I support informed consent – which requires an unencumbered choice. « I find it neither ethical nor wise to allow those with the greatest power (government, corporations, organizations, employers) to allow those with the least power dictating medical procedures.

« There are countless people (like me) for whom these injections are at greater risk than the virus. Most of us do not share a private decision that we carefully made with our doctors publicly If it looks like half the population will react shockingly differently to these bites than expected – then it’s likely because their life experiences were actually shockingly different, and their reasons range from a careful risk-benefit analysis to that financial inability to take time off from work / lack of health care in the event of possible side effects g, to an understandable distrust of a system that has never prioritized the health or well-being of its communities.

« I hope we can learn to make way for all the perspectives and fears that are happening right now. Let’s avoid the unfortunate tendency to dominate, dehumanize, and yell at each other. The hesitant population is not part of a monolithic group (sic). «
