The Pittsburgh Pirates have put right tricep reliever Kyle Crick on their list of 10- Days injured and right fielder Gregory Polanco reinstated in a number of ranks on Tuesday.

Polanco has been on the road since May 4th, although the pirates never offered an explanation for his stay on the 10-day IL. In order to make room for him on the active roster, the pirates have designated the infielder / outfielder Hunter Owen for use. Polanco has faced .200 in 24 games with three doubles, three home runs and five RBIs this season.

Crick had an ERA of 1.59 despite not allowing a run in his first eleven appearances before being awarded two earned runs in Sunday’s 6-5 win over the Chicago Cubs. The right-handed hit the first batsman he pitched, then moved on to the next and got a flyout before being replaced by Richard Rodriguez, who gave up hits with a hit and a double. Crick’s stay in the IL is retroactive to May 10th.

The Pirates selected left-hander Chasen Shreve from Triple-A Indianapolis’ contract, where he made two goalless appearances. The Pirates signed a minor league deal to Shreve in February after spending the 2020 season with the New York Mets.
