A former NSW police officer was arrested for assaulting a woman and lied about details of her arrest.
Anya Bradford was forcibly arrested in 2019 by Senior Constable Mark Follington in a pub in Liverpool, west Sydney.
Follington previously told the court that he was suspicious of her because she wasn’t making eye contact with him and wasn’t smiling.
« For me, this starts sending a signal to me that this person is trying to get ahead to hide from me. «
When Follington tried to prevent her from leaving after asking for ID, the court said Bradford told him to » fuck up « .
At this point, CCTV footage shows Follington grabbing her arm before a brawl broke out and he slammed her head into an ATM.
