Manchester United will open their Premier League campaign against old rivals Leeds at Old Trafford as the fixtures for the 2021-22 season were unveiled this morning.

The clash of old opponents will be the opening weekend duel, and some more games also whet the appetite.

City are among the teams closely associated with Spurs striker Harry Kane, which raises the tempting possibility that the English captain could face the North London club on the opening weekend. </ Elsewhere, Liverpool will face Sky Bet Championship winners Norwich on the weekend of August 14th, while the new Brentford boys will face a Londoner for the first time in 75 years Derby starts again in the top division at home against Arsenal

Champions League winners Chelsea greet managerless Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, while Everton, another team looking for a new head coach, welcome Southampton.

Watford, the third promoted team, will face Aston Villa on Vicarage Road, Brighton will visit Burnley and West Ham will face Newcastle on Matchday 1.

The Premier League season ends on May 22nd with Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea all playing on their own turf – against Villa, Wolves and Watford respectively – while Manchester United rounds off their tenure at Crystal Palace.

Brentford remains in London and will face Leeds on the final day of the match and is optimistic that while Arsenal face Everton it will not be critical to their hopes of survival.

Elsewhere last weekend are Tottenham in Norwich, Leicester welcomes Southampton, while Brighton welcomes West Ham into the Amex Stadium and visits Newcastle Burnley.

There are a number of early meetings between the Big Six, all of whom were involved in the Super League fiasco. On the weekend of September 25th, the Champions League final was repeated when Manchester City traveled to Chelsea.

Arsenal will also host Spurs in the first North London derby of the season on matchday six. The second meeting between the teams, which finished seventh and eighth last season, will take place on January 15th. Matchday seven, the weekend of October 2, marks the youngest Premier League winners’ first clash with Anfield, the site of the latest edition of Jurgen Klopp versus Guardiola and later in the month (October 23) the Reds will visit Old Trafford to against arch-rivals Manchester United.

Two weeks later, the first Manchester derby of the season will take place at Old Trafford, while Manchester City will host Chelsea in one of the opening games of 2022 (January 15) and City in the second leg at the weekend meet Manchester United on March 5th.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men will travel to Anfield Road later this month (March 19th) as Liverpool’s trip to Etihad Stadium on the 9th.
