The 27-year-old went into a formidable partnership with Ruben Dias, when the men of Pep Guardiola drove to their third championship title within four years and reached the Champions League final for the first time in 55 years.
« I couldn’t I love being part of this squad. There are so many quality players here and I know we can keep winning trophies, which is my main focus, « said Stones.

« The success we’ve had over the past four years has been incredible. Being a part of it is a dream come true and I just want to keep winning. «
Stones fell into the pecking order at Etihad during the 2019-20 season and seemed to be facing an uncertain future as City one last summer spent the record club fee on slides at the time.
However, he won a fight with Aymeric Laporte to support the Portuguese at the heart of City Defense.
City Football Director Txiki Begiristain said: « This is great news for our association. John is an exceptional footballer and a fantastic defender whose qualities suit our style of play. «
» When we signed him we knew we were going to get a talented center-back, but he’s really matured in his five years here and, as we saw last season, he’s at the top of his game right now. «
