Prince William says he felt « in a trance » in November 2013 when Taylor Swift asked him to join her and Jon Bon Jovi during a fundraiser at Kensington Palace, CNN, for a performance of « Livin ‘On. » a Prayer ”reports.
“ I’m sitting next to Taylor Swift. She’s on my left, « the 39-year-old Duke of Cambridge recalls in an upcoming Apple Fitness audio series“ Time to Walk, ”which will premiere on December 6th.
» And after Jon [Bon Jovi] has made his first song there is a pause and she turns to me, ”he continues. “She puts her hand on my arm, looks into my eyes and says, ‘Come on, William. Let’s go sing. ‘ »
William admits that he still doesn’t know » what happened to me « to this day, and winces » what happened next « .
» Honestly, though Taylor Swift looks you in the eye, touches your arm and says, ‘Come on’ … then I got up like a puppy and said, ‘Yeah, OK, that seems like a great idea. I’ll follow you, « he jokes.
The prince says he would compare himself to a swan in a unique moment: » I try to keep my composure on the outside, but inside the little legs paddle quickly. «
He adds, « Sometimes when you’re being pulled out of your comfort zone, you have to deal with it. »
The video from the performance also shows Bon Jovi, 59, asked Prince William to come on stage , while calling him « the karaoke kid ». Moments later, Swift, 31, and a nervous-looking William arrive on stage just in time for the chorus.
HRH and Swift high-five after their first round of singing together, then stayed on stage singing the chorus until the song ended.
