CM – Princess Eugenie resigns for Prince Philip’s funeral after giving birth

Princess Eugenie stepped out publicly for the first time since she was born to attend Prince Philip’s funeral.

The daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson attended the ceremony on Saturday with husband Jack Brooksbank. The couple welcomed their son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank on February 9.

The royal family, including the reunited brothers Prince William and Prince Harry, gathered at Windsor Castle to bid farewell to the Duke of Edinburgh, who died on April 9 at the age of 99.

Only 30 royals attended the scaled-down, COVID-safe ceremony – not even the great-grandchildren of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II were in attendance.

She announced the name of her newborn, who was born a few weeks later included a sweet nod to her late grandfather.

Photos accompanying the name messages showed the couple with August wearing a blue hat and wrapped in a matching blanket.

In her caption, Eugenie also revealed that August was delivered by a midwife who took the pictures of the new family.

« Many thanks to the wonderful staff, including our midwife, who came to fire our boy, » wrote Eugenie.

Eugenie, who is behind the older sister Beatrice ( 32) ranks tenth on the British throne, married Brooksbank in Windsor Castle that same year in 2018 and the same place where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot. The couple reportedly moved out of the Sussexes’ Frogmore Cottage in December.
