The Pharmacy Guild of Australia notes that Sigma Healthcare Limited has tabled a proposal to acquire API (Australian Pharmaceutical Industries Limited).
A Pharmacy Guild spokesman said they will continue to monitor API bids and investigate possible effects.
Ultimately, this is a commercial matter and the boards of directors of API and bidding companies will of course act in the interests of their shareholders.
The guild is monitoring the tender according to its own obligations to patients and guild members. </ The spokesperson said the guild has been closely monitoring developments over the past few months and will continue to keep members informed of any questions of interest.
