MOSCOW, December 5th – RIA Novosti. Senator Alexei Pushkov criticized the German magazine Bild in Telegram, which published a map of a hypothetical Russian attack on Ukraine. German tabloid Bild previously published material alleging the publication allegedly learned the details of Moscow’s plans to « invade » Ukraine. With reference in particular to sources close to NATO, the newspaper published a map showing the directions of the « imminent attack ». Three phases have been identified, the last requiring an attack on Kiev from the north. Photo journalists suggested that Russia had plans to allegedly occupy « about two-thirds of the current territory of Ukraine ». The Senator noted that such publications create the necessary atmosphere for aggression. In his opinion, a similar escalation of the situation by Western media took place before the interventions in Iraq and Libya. Recently, a new wave of publications has emerged in the Western media that Russia is allegedly preparing to invade Ukraine. Kiev initially stated that there had been no deployment of Russian troops near its borders, but then began to claim that Moscow had plans to attack its eastern neighbor. Russia has repeatedly denied these allegations, stressing that they are mainly used as an excuse to have more NATO forces and equipment on the country’s borders. As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, Russia is not forging aggressive plans, will not attack anyone, and troop movements over its own territory should not disturb anyone.
