CM – Raducanu loses first match since the US Open

The British Emma Raducanu lost her first match as a Grand Slam winner and was defeated in Indian Wells by the Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich in straight sets.

The number 22 in the world, Raducanu, was aiming for the eleventh victory in Follow on after winning the US Open in qualifying last month.

But Sasnovich, number 100 in the world rankings, triumphed 6-2, 6-4 in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open.

Raducanu, who received a bye for the first round, will next play in the Kremlin Cup in Moscow in 10 days.
