Canberra center-back George Williams has been released from his contract with the NRL club so the homesick Englishman can return home.
Williams had repeatedly asked for a release from his contract at the end of the 2021 season, but in a shock pull the Raiders pulled the trigger immediately.
In a statement, the Raiders said Williams retired from practice on Tuesday and argued with the Sydney Roosters, making the situation unsustainable.
