Steven Gerrard admits Covid-19 issues remain a cause for concern as his Rangers squad prepares for Sparta Prague in the Europa League on Thursday.
The light blues admitted an outbreak of the virus last month, although there was no clarity on whether players, staff, or both were affected and who needed to isolate themselves as close contact.
However, Gerrard missed the Europa League play-off game against Alashkert , as well as key players like Allan McGregor, Jon McLaughlin, James Tavernier, Scott Wright and Calvin Bassey, and the Rangers boss subsequently spoke of « lying in bed with symptoms ».
Striker Ianis Hagi was then during his international appearance tested positive for Covid-19 with Romania, and defender Connor Goldson missed a game against St. Johnstone as he self-isolated.
He said, « Covid has not gone away. I’m still waiting for tests to be negative to see who’s available.
« For me as a coach it’s different than for us as coaches, you wait until the last minute to see who’s playing and things can change pretty quickly.

« I don’t think it will be when we can find this well-rehearsed team moving forward because the number of games is an issue, you always get a knock or two and the Covid situation is not over just because « Outdoor life has improved.
» We still test inside a few times a week so you can throw a crooked ball whenever you want. «
