The Houston Astros have had the most runs per game of any team in the majors but have dealt with injuries in the starting pitch rotation and will have to rely on Jake Odorizzi for a good one at Minute Maid Park on Thursday afternoon Get a start.
Odorizzi has held out 4½ innings or less in three of his four starts this season. He has a 6.75 ERA and gives up two homers per nine innings.
The Astros are backing him with a bullpen that ranks 22nd in the ERA and will face a lineup of the Boston Red Sox that is in the MLB -Average runs per game and road home runs per game is in the top 4. Boston will bet on Martin Perez to continue solid pitching outside Fenway Park and two home runs of 21² / innings in four road starts with an average hit of 2.91 ERA and 0.225 opponents.
With the Red Sox leading the MLB on extra base hits and the top 10 in the Bullpen ERA, this fight should be the AL -Candidates go in Boston direction.
