Not only could the Los Angeles Lakers lose several RPG players this off-season, they could also say goodbye to one of their top assistant coaches.
After the Lakers’ loss to the Suns on Thursday night, Yahoo Sports reported Insider Chris Haynes said Jason Kidd is a top contestant for multiple jobs.
« Kidd – who was previously head coach in Brooklyn and Milwaukee – is expected to do an interview for the opening of the Boston Celtics head coach and is expected to be a top -Target the Portland Trail Blazers in anticipation of Terry Stotts being relieved of his duties. « After nine seasons on the team, » Haynes reported on Yahoo Sports.
Well, it turns out that Haynes isn’t the the only NBA insider expecting Kidd to run for the Portland Trail Blazers job. Marc Stein of the New York Times heard the same buzz.
« Hearing the same thing Chris Haynes described here: There is a lot of excitement in the league coaching circles that Lakers assistant coach Jason Kidd is The top candidate in Portland will emerge when the Blazers, as many expect, on their exit in the first round with a change of coach, « tweeted Stein.

Kidd has a record of 183-190 as head coach in the NBA. He spent a season with the Nets and a little over three seasons with the Bucks.
It would be fun to see what Kidd could do with a backcourt with Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. That means, of course, if Lillard wants to stay in Portland.
