CM – Return flight welcome, Gutwein government should also welcome Afghans

The Greens welcome the Prime Minister’s announcement that a return flight is arriving from the UK. Australians should be able to come home and safely quarantine.

We understand that while Tasmania will not be Afghans on the return flight, it will still contribute to the relocation effort by making room for Afghans Quarantine creates in other jurisdictions.

We also acknowledge the Prime Minister’s earlier statements offering Tasmania to accept Afghan refugees and hope that he will make it clear to the Prime Minister that we want to provide a true haven for these desperate people .

We encourage the Gutwein government to make it clear to the federal government that refugees from Afghanistan are always welcome and ready to take in refugees in the coming weeks and months.

Lutruwita / Tasmania is a warm and welcoming one Location. The state government should encourage the resettlement of as many Afghans as possible on our island.

There are many in the Tasmanian Hazara community who have tried to get their families out of Afghanistan. We hope that the Gutwein Liberals see to it that they are reunited on our island, where they can lead a new life with their loved ones.

The Afghans who were lucky enough to leave Afghanistan have been through horror. to escape the Taliban.

We hope Peter Gutwein makes it clear that Tasmania will welcome as many people as possible and support them when they arrive.

The calculation is based on the actual expenses of the agencies and is effective as an insurance policy in the event that we cannot go through the budget.
