Just before another accident closed Highway 17 near Los Gatos for hours on Saturday, the California Highway Patrol reported that the driver of a pickup truck had been involved in a collision on the highway near Scotts Valley the night before was killed.
A Toyota pickup was traveling north on Highway 17 north of Mount Hermon Road at around 10:20 p.m. Friday when it popped up behind a Toyota Camry and hit what caused the Camry to spin out and off the road, according to a CHP statement.

The driver of the smaller car was transported to the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment for minor injuries, CHP announced on Saturday at 8 a.m.
Neither alcohol nor drugs have been ruled out as a contributory cause of the collision, CHP said.
