Their opening game against Finland was on Saturday when Christian Eriksen had cardiac arrest on the pitch and they had to return less than two hours later to finish the game.

Unsurprisingly, they lost 1-0, which put them on their backs in Group B, especially the one World number one Belgium as next opponent.

After Eriksen is fortunately okay again, the Danes have vowed to fight for their ailing team-mate.

Holland will try to get a closer grip on Group C against Austria in Amsterdam while Bucharest host Ukraine against North Macedonia.

Roberto Mancini’s team presented themselves as possible contenders after a sovereign 3-0 win against Switzerland in Group A the title.

Manuel Locatelli’s brace on both sides of half-time and the late third from Ciro Immobile brought Italy the points in Rome and sent them to the round of 16.

Belgium will celebrate Eriksen’s continued recovery from cardiac arrest in the game against Denmark. Eriksen’s Inter Milan team-mate Romelu Lukaku has announced that the Belgians plan to throw the ball out of the game after 10 minutes – the midfielder is wearing the Danish national team’s number 10 jersey – in Thursday’s showdown as a token of respect.

Gareth Bale created five clear chances for Wales in their Euro win against Turkey tonight – the first player in recorded Euro history (since 1980) to score so many in one game. It was a great performance by Wales so let’s take a look at the statistics. # WAL #TUR # Euro2020 ⬠?? ï¸ ??

Bale might have taken his penalty in Wales’ 2-0 win over Turkey , but the Real Madrid man was still putting on a show in Baku, scoring both of his side’s goals en route to five chances in the game, including the first player in recorded history at the European Championship.
