CM – Several perpetrators behind fire, attack


UPDATE 9:00 am: Police believe a group of people were behind an attack on a man in a Raceview house early Friday that left the victim seriously injured.

It is believed that Around 4:45 am, a number of people attacked the man and started a fire in the house on Mahogany Street.

The man suffered burns to his arms and legs and other injuries to his face and stomach.

The police have one Set up the crime scene on Mahogany Street and interview potential witnesses as they investigate the early morning confrontation.

The man believed to be over 20 is in one at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital critical condition.

Previously: A RACEVIEW man was hospitalized early Friday with serious injuries, including burns to his arms and legs, after an apparent disorder.

According to police, he was in the Mahogan y Street reported an altercation around 4:45 am in which a man aged 20 sustained injuries to his face and abdomen and burns to his arms and legs.

Four firefighters participated and put out a fire in the roof. A Queensland Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said the fire was extinguished at 5:30 a.m. and the crews stayed until around 6:30 a.m.

The injured man was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in grave condition .

Detectives from the Ipswich CIB are on site and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The police have yet to comment on the nature of the incident or who else may have been involved.


Mining will resume from July 2021 to fuel Queensland’s economic recovery.


Police are currently investigating possible links to more people following the drug and firearm seizures in North Mackay.
