After losing to Bilbao a few weeks ago, Sevilla had the perfect opportunity to get back into the title race and they didn’t take it . Sevilla played Real Madrid on the street last weekend and had 42% possession, 3 shots on goal, 3 corners, 1 big chance and 85% correct passes. Sevilla were solid in the game, taking a 1-0 lead at halftime, but Real were back in the game with a goal in the 57th minute. Sevilla received a penalty in the 78th minute and turned it into a goal. Sevilla defended well for the rest of the game until they conceded another goal in the 94th minute. That game ended in a 2-2 draw. Thanks to this draw, Sevilla stayed in 4th place with 71 points and are now 6 points behind Atletico Madrid. The only way to win the title is for Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real to lose all of their games. Sevilla will play in the Champions League next season but the only question is where they will get there from.

After 6 straight games without a win, Valencia beat Valladolid in their last LaLiga game. Valencia only had 40% possession, 3 shots on goal, 1 corner, 2 big chances and 84% correct passes. Valencia may have had less possession, but they were effective in attack and with 3 goals scored, Valencia won this game 3-0. With only 2 games left, Valencia is in 14th place with 39 points and the LaLiga place is certain for the next season. On the defensive, Valencia are one of the weakest teams in the league with 51 goals conceded. However, with 46 goals scored, the offensive was decent. Soler was the best player in Valencia with 9 goals and 7 assists, while Gomez scored 7 goals. There are currently no injuries in Valencia. If you sell all of your best players when you fire the coach who made your game better, this is the kind of team you get. Valencia had the potential to play for the Europa League at the end of last season but their president hasn’t made a single good decision before this season and that’s why Valencia remain in LaLiga by such a small margin.

Valencia haven’t won any of their last three games against Sevilla and they haven’t won any of their last nine away games. Sevilla are understandably a big favorite in this game. I think Sevilla will win this game but I’m not sure if it will mean anything.
