CM – Son of the Adelaide Crows coach who was killed is granted unsupervised leave from the mental health facility


The son of the slain Adelaide Crows trainer Phil Walsh is on unsupervised leave from a low-security mental health facility as he faces a possible full release back to the community.

Cy Walsh has been detained until further notice held after the Supreme Court found he was mentally incompetent when he stabbed his father in July 2015.

He was later diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and given supervised leave to treat the disease and advance his rehabilitation .

Last year he was allowed to attend church with only one companion, including his mother.

Wash was responsible for the murder of his 55-year-old father in the family home in Adelaide Found not guilty after the court acknowledged he had undiagnosed and untreated schizophrenia at the time.
