St. Johnstone strolled into the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup with two goals in the first half in the early evening sun.
Somewhat surprisingly, the league cup holders no longer scored multiple goals in a largely one-sided affair.
St. Johnstone will find that today’s Old Firm winners will come up with a much tougher proposition in the quarterfinals if they pursue the dream of a national cup double.
It was not surprising that Clyde immediately faced sustained pressure that culminated in St. Johnstone after just under six minutes, turning an already huge task into a Herculean task.
