CM – ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Cast Additions: Amybeth McNulty, Myles Truitt, Regina Ting Chen & Grace Van Dien

Netflix today confirmed / revealed the new returning cast members for the upcoming fourth season of Stranger Things as part of its Geeked Week events. Amybeth McNulty (Anne with an E), Myles Truitt (Queen Sugar), Regina Ting Chen (Queen of the South) and Grace Van Dien (Charlie Says) have joined the fourth season of the hugely popular series.

McNulty is playing Vickie, a cool, fast-talking band nerd who grabbed the attention of one of our beloved heroes.

Truitt portrays Patrick, a Hawkins basketball star who has friends, talent, and a good life … until shocking events in his life out of control.

Chen is Ms. Kelly, a popular career counselor who cares deeply about her students – especially those who are struggling the most.

Van Dien plays Chrissy, Hawkins’ high lead cheerleader and the most popular girl in the school. But a dark secret is hidden beneath the seemingly perfect surface.

In previously published teasers, we received clues as to where season 4 is going. The first teased the return of David Harbors Hopper, a character feared dead. A second clip teased the rumored return of Dr. Martin Brenner, played by Matthew Modine. It appears to be set at the Hawkins National Laboratory, run by Brenner, where he raised, trained, and performed experiments on children with psychokinetic abilities, including Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) who called him dad.

At the end of the third season, after the explosion aimed at turning the Soviet laboratory upside down under the new Starcourt Mall, Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) is seen with her sons (Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp) and Eleven (Brown) the city of Indiana to start a new life. In the final scene, which takes place at the far eastern end of the USSR, there is a geographic jump in which guards feed a prisoner to an imprisoned Demogorgon, but « not the American ».

Stranger Things was created by Matt and Ross Duffer Monkey Massacre Productions & 21 Laps Entertainment produces. The twin brothers are writers, directors, executive producers and showrunners on the show alongside executive producer / director Shawn Levy and executive producer Dan Cohen of 21 Laps and executive producer Iain Paterson.

McNulty played the for three seasons Netflix’s title character Anne with an E. She recently wrapped Irish independent film Black Medicine and Maternal for Ideal Entertainment and will next star in All My Puny Sorrows alongside Alison Pill and Sarah Gadon. She is represented by Silver Lining Entertainment and Lisa Richards Agency.

Truitt will next appear in the Starz / Lionsgate series Black Mafia Family alongside Russell Hornsby. He can also be seen recurring on OWN’s Queen Sugar. He is represented by J Pervis Talent Agency, UTA and JT Talent Management.

Chen’s recent works include Queen of the South, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Watchmen, Black Lightning and Dynasty. She is represented by Atlanta Models and Talent.

Van Dien was a regular series on NBC’s The Village and Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy. She recently starred in Vince Vaughn’s film The Bing for Hulu. She previously played Sharon Tate in the film Charlie Says directed by Mary Harron. Van Dien is represented by LINK Entertainment and Innovative Artists.
