Former test cricketer Stuart MacGill has been named the victim of an alleged kidnapping and extortion attempt in Sydney.
While NSW police failed to identify the victim, described as the 50-year-old man, MacGill was caught quickly by multiple media outlets The alleged victim was confronted with a man on April 14 at 8 p.m. in Cremorne on Sydney’s north coast, police said.
Then two more men came and helped force him into a car before they drove him to Bringelly in southwest Sydney, where he was threatened with a gun.
The incident was reported to police on April 20th and four men aged 27, 29, 42 and 46 were raided on Wednesday Arrested at dawn.
Police officers are currently executing search warrants on homes in Sutherland, Caringbah, Brighton Le-Sands, Banksia and Marrickville.
