Squid Game Korean Thriller has a « very good chance » of surpassing Bridgerton as the greatest Netflix show of all time

After everything Sean Alex got on the Netflix limited series Maid, you’d think he’d make it up to you and let her move to college in Montana with Maddy in tow.

Maddy ( played by Rylea Nevaeh Whittet), however, was Sean’s (Nick Robinson) only connection to Alex (Margaret Qualley) and his only method of controlling and hurting his ex-girlfriend – and that is exactly what he tried to do in the drama Finale series. Alex had other plans, and with the help of her lawyer, she did everything possible to fight back against the verbally and emotionally abusive man who fathered her daughter Custody caused Alex to miss the summer semester of the college she enrolled in, but her attorney assured her it would eventually work out. Alex worried when she found out that her mother Paula was homeless and living on her cobalt blue El Camino, despite the lies she told Alex about living in an artist collective loft.

Alex had an urgent one too Deadline to move out of the domestic violence shelter she and Maddy had lived in, and she reached out to her father, Hank, to testify about the verbally abusive way Sean spoke to her. But because Hank was a former abuser, he refused to help Alex and would likely never see her or Maddy again. Alex eventually asked this man for help – something he had offered her – and she revealed that she had lived at the shelter twice trying to escape Sean. But Hank denied it because he was too busy taking Sean’s side. Goodbye.

There were bright spots in the dark. Alex’s cleaning business flourished, and her volunteer hours as a moderator for the authors’ therapy group got better and more caring with each session. (Brandi shared a passage with her late father about walking by the lake and Denise shared a memory of the best day about how her daughter touched her lovingly for the first time as a baby.) Paula also stepped in and acted as a mediator, when Sean insisted on seeing Maddy and eventually went to the doctor to check her wrist. She later shocked everyone as the voice of sanity when she took Maddy to Alex after half of her game date with her father and convinced Alex to speak to Sean. Then he confessed that his alcohol DTs had made him snap at Maddy. He realized that he should give Alex full custody until he was clean and sober.

Alex thanked Sean and assured him that he could visit Maddy in Montana anytime he was clean, and Sean thanked her. He also said that Alex could come over and get Maddy’s last things before the move, and she did.

An enthusiastic Paula then said that she would move to Montana with Alex too … but it was a promise that she didn’t hold. The moment her boyfriend said he would leave his ex-wife alone and asked her to move in, Paula forgot all the beautiful things she and Alex had shared and selected a husband for her daughter again. Oh, Paula.

When it came to Maddy, Alex put her first, and before saying goodbye to her sisterhood in the writing circle, shared her vision that moving to Montana with Maddy would be the happiest day of her Life would be. They visited the Missoula « M », which is known to mark a hill in Montana, and she told her the « M » stands for Maddy.
