The other nine clubs that formed the unfortunate Super League three weeks ago accepted a settlement on Friday that was fined by UEFA and in which Champions League structure remains open.

Milan were one of those clubs, and the win increased his chances of returning to the Champions League as the Rossoneri tied on points with second-placed Atalanta, who previously won 5-2 in Parma were.

And it was Milan that broke the impasse during the break in the first half. Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny failed to properly take a free kick and Brahim Diaz managed to control and cut the ball before rolling it into the top right corner.

Milan would have had their lead in the second half in the 13th minute can double when Giorgio Chiellini received a penalty for a handball. But Szczęsny made up for his earlier mistake by saving Franck Kessié’s free-kick.

Szczęsny had no chance in the 78th minute when Ante Rebić shot a powerful 25-yard hit into the top right corner.

And Milan sealed the result four minutes later when Fikayo Tomori scored a free kick for his first goal for Milan since being loaned by Chelsea in January.

The defender’s goal also means Milan have the better head against Juventus -an head balance – after he lost the first game between the teams with 1: 3. This is the first tiebreaker if the teams are tied at the end of the season.

Matteo Pessina doubled Atalanta’s lead shortly after his move and his substitute colleague Luis Muriel scored twice.
