Tasmania has recorded 751 new COVID-19 cases, with one person hospitalized to treat symptoms of the virus.
The daily case count comes from 2958 laboratory tests, bringing the island nation’s active infections to 3534.
One patient is being treated specifically for coronavirus symptoms, while four other people are hospitalized for unrelated illnesses.
Of the active infections, 374 are monitored at home and 64 remain in community management facilities.
Mark Veitch, state director of public health, said every 50 Tasmanians could be active in about a week, up from about one in 170 now.
