Model Tess Holliday said she was « anorexic and recovering » after battling the eating disorder.
The plus-size model, 35, said her anorexia was the result of a culture that Celebrates thinness. & equates this with value.

I’m no longer ashamed to say it out loud, » Holliday tweeted over the weekend. « I’m the result of a culture that celebrates thinness. & equates that with value, but I can now write my own narrative. « I can finally take care of a body that I’ve been punishing all my life. & I’m finally free. »

Holliday, who has two children, admitted that she lost weight, but now « regularly feeding my body for the first time in my life ».
« For people like me trying to reshape our relationships with our bodies, it is hellish to hear comments about weight, » continued Holliday continues on Instagram. « It brings us back to our progress – and when people who are working on themselves see you comment on me like that, it hurts YOU, not just me. »
